Joe began his career in financial planning and the securities industry over 30 years ago, after leaving active duty in the U.S. Navy. He began his investment career with Merrill Lynch in 1994 where he attained a Certified Financial Manager designation. In 1998 Joe joined Salomon Smith Barney as a Financial Consultant where he continued to serve the needs of individuals, business owners and non-profit organizations.
Working for Wall Street Firms such as Merrill Lynch and Smith Barney gave Joe a deep appreciation for putting clients first when providing financial advice. Joe joined Community Financial Services Group, LLC (CFSG) in 2002 to continue his passion for financial planning to deliver exceptional solutions to meet clients’ needs. That same year, Joe and his wife Luann moved to Vermont to raise their son, Jake, and daughter, Luke.
Joe attended the Boston University School for Financial Management, where he attained his Certified Financial Planning designation (CFP®). In addition, Joe is a registered securities advisor and licensed life insurance professional.
Joe graduated from the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland in 1985 and is a retired Naval Officer. He continues service to the community through involvement in Rotary and as a Trustee of the Barre Opera House as well as other volunteer activities in Vermont. Past community service posts include Central Vermont Chamber of Commerce Director, Central Vermont Hospital Finance Committee, Joint Services Club Committee, church finance committee chair, and Blue & Gold Officer for the United States Naval Academy.
Joe enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and skiing.
